<abstract>We are concerned with the asymptotic behavior of the ground state of quasilinear Schr&#246;dinger equations in $\mathbf{R}^2$. We show the asymptotic non-degeneracy and uniqueness of the ground state for a wide class of nonlinearities.</abstract>
