For information on obtaining grants to study as a graduate student in our department, please see the two links below. Please note the following two things:
- enter here In this link please click on "Scholarships" and then on "Scholarships for international students in Japan" and then "Japanese Government (Monbusho) Scholarships". Virtually all of the students who come to our university do so via a Monbusho scholarship.
- enter here In this link, please click on "How to apply from overseas". Here you can find much information about how to apply and about the Japanese language proficiency test and generally about life in Japan.
If you wish to pursue applying to our graduate student program, then by all means we will welcome your application. Please contact me by email. You should send a curriculum vitae. And please feel free to ask questions by email.
- Surviving here by working a nonskilled job on the side to raise money for living and university expenses would be very difficult. Unless you have independent sources, the best way is to get a grant.
- All the courses here are given in Japanese, so you will need to develop good Japanese language skills if you do not have them already. In the application process, you will be asked to somehow provide verification that you have these language skills. We do not have any specific requirements for what constitutes sufficient language skills. If you have questions about this, please ask us.
You can get an application form by contacting the Japanese Embassy in your country. This is explained in detail in the links above. Also, see the link below for specific application procedures.
