Dimensions in algebraic analysis
Viktor Levandovskyy,
Lehrstuhl D fuer Mathematik, RWTH Aachen University
Abstract
Gelfand-Kirillov dimension is a useful tool in ring theory.
It has much in common with dimensions, used in the D-module theory (like the Krull dimension of the characteristic variety and the dimension, used by Bernstein). On the other hand, in a variety
of situations Gelfand-Kirillov dimension behaves differently.
Yet on the other hand, the computation of the GK-dimension
of finitely generated modules is algorithmic for a broad class of non-commutative algebras.
Armed with the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension, I will present
an unified proof of the existence of Bernstein-Sato ideals
over polynomial and Ore-localized Weyl algebras.
